Building on the success of AUD’s Master of Education (M.Ed.) program, established in 2012, we are proud to introduce a new concentration in Special and Inclusive Education. This groundbreaking concentration addresses the critical global and regional shortage of qualified special and inclusive education teachers. It equips educators with the advanced knowledge, practical skills, and hands-on experience to create inclusive learning environments that supports students with disabilities.
Duration: 2 years (36 credit hours).
AUD Master of Education is one of the first universities in the Middle East and GCC to offer a specialized concentration in Special and Inclusive Education, positioning itself as a leader in this critical field.
The program integrates evidence-based practices, cutting-edge assistive technology, culminating in a hands-on practicum and a research project ensuring graduates are well-prepared to meet the challenges of inclusive education.
With a global shortage of special education teachers, graduates of this program are in high demand, both locally and internationally.
The Special and Inclusive Education concentration is led by Dr. Nadera Alborno and Dr. Fariha Salman, distinguished scholars who combine academic rigor with practical expertise.
Graduates will be prepared to take on high-impact roles such as special education teachers, inclusive education specialists, curriculum developers or educational consultants in K-12 schools, both in the UAE and internationally.
The program boasts strong collaborations with Special Olympics UAE and over 25 clinical partnerships with high-ranked schools across the UAE, providing students with real-world exposure and networking opportunities.
Building on the success of AUD’s M.Ed. program, which has graduated over 185 alumni, this concentration is designed to produce highly skilled educators who will make a tangible impact in the field of inclusive education.
